The Minnesota Counseling Association (MnCA) is the state branch of the American Counseling Association (ACA). We work to provide leadership and services to the counseling professionals of Minnesota and the constituents which they serve.

The Minnesota Counseling Association is the recognized statewide leader in the counseling and development professions with active counseling and development workers dedicated to the advancement of the helping professions.

1. To promote the establishment of high standards of services provided by counseling and development professionals in Minnesota
2. To provide opportunities through conference and workshops for counselors in a variety of settings to increase their knowledge of the field and improve their professional skills
3. To focus efforts so that counseling and development programs can provide a vital and influential role in education, industry and government
4. To inform the public about the need for counselors in a variety of settings in order to meet special developmental needs of individuals
5. To organize efforts in order to seek federal and state legislation that supports programs of counseling and development for citizens in a variety of settings and across various life stages
6. To maintain liasion relationships with MnCA Divisions through association officers and state delegate membership with MnCA
